All year round there are tons of different festivals and events to keep you busy, entertained and fed!
Hamilton Winterfest – A weeklong series of events organized by the City of Hamilton based in Gore Park and at the waterfront.
Braden’s Hot Chocolate Festival – held on Family Day at the Dundas Valley Conservation Area, family activities and of course hot chocolate!
Food & Drink Festival – Wine, Cheese, Food and Beer! All set up in the downtown Hamilton Convention Centre over 3 days
Waterdown Arts and Music Street Festival – Started in Spring of 2014, this community gathering hosts all sorts of local vendors, musical acts and food trucks!
Sew Hungry – Ottawa Street BIA hosts upwards of 30 Food Trucks from Hamilton and surrounding areas to get the season going in early May
Doors Open Hamilton – Hamilton’s Landmark buildings open their doors to the public for free!
CiderFest – there are lots of Beer Festivals, but there is only one Ciderfest! Country music, BBQ and ALL the cider held in Winona
Pride Hamilton – all sorts of exciting pride celebration in our inclusive city!
Hamilton Roots & Blues Festival – Westdale Village is home the annual celebration of music with amazing live performances
Liquid Arts Music Festival – 2018 marks the first ever 2 day festival of beer, art and music at Collective Arts – I suspect it will be a huge success!
It’s Your Festival – this long running festival brings vendors, international food and musical performers to Gage Park on the July
long weekend. Even has a small midway with classic rides and games.
Because Beer – Started in 2014, Because Beer focused on craft beers, local music and food trucks all set up at Pier 4 Park. It was a huge success as is often the case with events pulled together by the folks at Sonic Unyon (also responsible for Super Crawl). 2018 it is expanding to 3 days of revelry!
World Music Festival – 3 days of international and multicultural music in Gage Park
Hamilton Fringe Festival – 11 days of live theatre events, for all ages, drama, comedy, musical – and no ticket is over $10! Over 300 performances to pick from!
Music on the Waterfront – through July and August you’ll find local musical groups performing at Pier 8, bring your lawn chairs for this free event on Thursday evenings
The Hamilton Beer Festival – Yes, we have no shortage of Beer Festivals! 2014 brought this first offering making use of the beautiful roof top of Jackson Square in downtown Hamilton – by 2016 they outgrew their original home and descended upon Bayfront park!
Festival of Friends – formerly held in downtown Gage Park, this favourite free musical event is now held at the Ancaster Fair Grounds and typically hosts a wide variety of known and up and coming musical talent – I caught the B-52s there in 2013!
Greenbelt Harvest Picnic – At Christie Lake in August, this outdoor concert also hosts great eco-responsible vendors and tasty local food providers
A Midsummer’s Dream – A one day event in Gage Park with colour, community and general positive spirit
Dundas Cactus Festival – Dundas’s 3 day celebration with local biz set up on the street, lots of entertainers, great for the kids and all ages
Winona Peach Festival – peach season. Nuff said, get there.
Supercrawl – 3 day art, food and music in downtown Hamilton, organized by the Sonic Unyon Recording gang
Locke Street Festival – the BIA shuts down the street to welcome local vendors, entertainers and of course the people!
Telling Tales – Celebration of Storytelling, authors, stories and musicians held at Westfield Heritage Village in Rockton
AGH World Film Fest – Screenings of outstanding award-winning international, independent and Canadian films presented at venues across Hamilton, Ancaster and Stoney Creek.
Hamilton Film Festival – 7 day, volunteer run film fest with juried selections, strives to be an inclusive event showcasing films perhaps not seen elsewhere!
